James A. Shalek


James A. Shalek has been associated with the financial services industry since 1973. A Hope College graduate, he holds Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designations from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Prior to entering the business world, Jim taught mathematics for several years.

Jim has dedicated his career to furnishing comprehensive financial services to his clients. He provides individuals and businesses with advice, implementation and review at a professional level. Since 1975, Jim has been a Senior Financial Representative with Principal Life Insurance Company and a Registered Representative and Financial Advisor with Principal Securities, Inc. This enables him to handle both the risk management and investment needs of his clients.

Mr. Shalek uses his skills to provide clients with services designed to help fulfill the objectives and obligations of the client through long-term relationships.

His experience has been recognized by the financial community as evidenced by his selection for membership in various performance-based industry councils. He is a Life & Qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table* for over a quarter century and is included in Who's Who in Finance and Industry.

Jim and his family reside in Bradenton, FL and Warrenville, IL. He is active in various community organizations including serving as past President of the Board of Directors of the Midwest Epilepsy Center and NAIFA DuPage (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors - Du Page Association), where he served on the Board for 15 years and was the 1998 Member of the Year. Jim is a Past President and Director of NAIFA Illinois and served on a national committee for 5 years. He has also appeared as a guest professional on Finance 2000 WKKD 95.9 FM, Aurora, Illinois.
